Electronics Technician for Industrial Engineering

Your challenge

It is important to us to involve you from the very beginning: your colleagues will show you everything step by step and integrate you into our workflows. This way, you can gradually take on more and more tasks and master more and more tools and steps. 

As an electronics technician, you will learn how to install machines and systems, as well as how to program and configure systems, under instructions. Your tasks will also include monitoring and maintaining installations, carrying out regular testing, analyzing faults and initiating appropriate measures. Other activities will involve installing, assembling and testing devices and systems.

    Warehouse Logistics Expert

    Your challenge

    Our modern high-bay warehouse is considered to be the largest of its kind in Europe, offering you the best conditions for an exciting apprenticeship and an optimal basis for your future. In addition, you will get to know other sections of our company, giving you a good overall impression of the interrelationships and processes.

    It is important to us that you are involved from the very beginning: your colleagues will show you everything step by step and integrate you into our work processes. This way, you can gradually take on more and more tasks and become more and more familiar with the tools and steps involved. 

    The apprenticeship to become a warehouse logistics expert covers a wide range of tasks:

    These include the acceptance and inspection of incoming goods, the storage of goods and the performance of stock checks. The trainees learn how to classify goods, how to put together loading units and how to label consignments in accordance with legal requirements. Other activities include securing, loading and stowing consignments, as well as transporting goods using various industrial trucks. In addition, loading lists and loading plans are created and shipping documents are processed. During their training, the apprentices get to know various departments of the company, and if they perform well in school, they have the opportunity to take part in an apprentice exchange within the corporation, for example at the corporate headquarters in Schaffhausen, Switzerland.

    Industrial Management Assistant

    Your challenge

    It is important to us to involve you from the very beginning: your colleagues will show you everything step by step and integrate you into our workflows. This way, you can gradually take on more and more tasks and become more and more proficient in using the tools and following the steps. 

    The training to become an industrial clerk offers a wide range of tasks in various departments. In sales, the focus is on contact with customers and colleagues, price calculation, preparing offers, as well as negotiations and marketing. In procurement, price calculations are carried out, offers are researched and checked, and negotiations with suppliers are conducted and orders are placed. Process planning includes the planning and organization of the use of machines and personnel in coordination with production. In logistics, the emphasis is on goods planning, the creation of freight documents and the tracking of processes. Other important areas are accounting, controlling and human resources, where tasks such as the testing of invoices, the controlling of key figures, time management, as well as personnel marketing and recruiting are carried out. The trainees also get to know various commercial sections such as production, manufacturing, dispatch, the workshop and quality assurance. If they perform well at school, there is the possibility of an exchange program for apprentices within the corporation, for example at the corporate headquarters in Schaffhausen, Switzerland. Before the apprenticeship begins, there is also the opportunity to take part in taster days, internships or vacation jobs to gain an insight into the shipping warehouse and the associated activities.

    Plastics and Rubber Technician

    Your challenge

    The apprenticeship as a plastics and rubber technician covers a wide range of technical tasks. These include distinguishing and classifying plastics, rubbers, additives and auxiliary materials. Trainees learn how to plan and control work processes, as well as how to monitor and evaluate production results. Other tasks include reading, applying and creating technical drawings, as well as programming, controlling and maintaining production installations. The central training content also includes inspecting installations and maintaining tools, machines and equipment.

    StudiumPlus Engineering (Bachelor or Master)

    As a dual Bachelor's student in StudiumPlus mechanical engineering / design, you will acquire the theoretical and technical know-how for the development of machines, devices and tools for the production of industrial products with complex shapes and contours. You will learn to consider functional, practical and material-related aspects. You can then build on this to specialize further. The Bachelor's degree program lasts 7 semesters, or 3.5 years. A Dual StudyPlus Master's degree program lasts 3 semesters, or 1.5 years.

    Your challenge

    It is important to us to involve you from the very beginning: your colleagues will show you everything step by step and integrate you into our workflows. At the same time, you will gain insight into practical applications of your studies and the opportunity for exciting scientific research.

    Your completed dual studies program is not only the basis for a good career, but can also be the basis for your further development – depending on the case and the opportunity, for example, through a master's degree followed by a bachelor's degree or our own GF Academy.

    Your studies will cover reading, applying and creating technical drawings, as well as differentiating between and categorising plastics, rubbers and various additives and processing aids. You will also have the opportunity to work on your own projects, allowing you to gain practical expertise and apply your theoretical knowledge.

    FAQ

    Where is the vocational school and how frequently?

    The vocational school is in Biedenkopf or Marburg, depending on the training profession, and you go there 1-2 times a week.

    Do I have the opportunity to go abroad during my training?

    If you perform well at school and in the company, you have the opportunity to get to know another GF location.

    How much is the apprentice remuneration?

    We have an attractive apprentice remuneration, including vacation and Christmas bonuses, because we are based on the collective agreement.

    Once I complete my apprenticeship, will I have the opportunity for permanent employment and further training?

    Yes, because we are constantly developing and improving, you can either pursue a specialist career or advance within the company. Our Managing Director is also a former DEKA apprentice.

    Is it possible to arrange a taster day or a trial day beforehand?

    You are welcome to get to know the company, the position and your colleagues during an internship or similar.

    By when do I have to submit my application?

    Since you have already enquired about an apprenticeship at GF DEKA, we hope that you are already convinced that you should apply directly.

    How does the application process work?

    After you submit your application, it will be reviewed. Then you will be invited to take an employment test, but don't worry, you can pass it without studying. The next step is a personal interview.

    Our goal is to complete the application process as quickly as possible so that we can hire qualified apprentices as soon as possible. This is also for your safety.

    How are apprentices treated at the company?

    We communicate and work with our apprentices on an equal footing from day one, so you become an active part of our team.
