Anyone interested in these areas is definitely learning a profession with a future, because plastics, IT and electrical engineering will continue to have a major influence on our lives in the future.

Seewis has been manufacturing plastic pipework systems for over 50 years and offers system solutions with service in all project phases. The systems are used in industry and supply, e.g. for cooling, chemical processes and for municipal drinking water and waste water pipes.

Automation engineer, Federal VET Diploma

Your challenge

Today, technology is advancing at a rapid pace. New installations and robots must be manufactured and programmed, and automation is continuously developed and improved in collaboration with other departments. If a installation breaks down, quick action is essential to resolve the issue and resume production as soon as possible. Staying calm and working accurately, even during busy times, is a daily challenge.

You are responsible for the maintenance, control and cleaning of our industrial building and the outdoor facilities at the Seewis location.

    Machine operator, Federal VET Diploma

    Your challenge

    As a machine operator, you play an important role in keeping industrial production running smoothly and efficiently. You set up, operate, and monitor modern production equipment and production lines, making sure that processes run reliably and products meet the required quality standards. Precision, safety, and a good understanding of technical processes are part of your daily work. When faults occur or adjustments are needed, you keep a clear head, take the right action, and help ensure that production can continue with minimal interruption.

    Your apprenticeship includes:

    • Planning of production processes according to the order
    • Setting up and operating installations, making adjustments as needed
    • Monitoring production processes

      We produce over 30,000 different items. Our injection moulding machines are refitted daily, the variety is huge. We also produce high-quality products that are subject to strict quality control. You will work in the injection moulding shop and be a valuable team member from day one of your training.

      The basic requirement for this apprenticeship is the ability to work accurately on a daily basis. The company manufactures high-precision components and tools, which often have to be accurate to a thousandth of a millimetre.

      Continued employment

      We offer you a temporary position after you have completed your apprenticeship. We train the qualified workers of the future, which is why we give you the opportunity to gain expertise and develop your skills for six months after passing the final examination (QV).

      FAQ

      How do I get to Seewis?

      The Seewis Pardisla stop is right behind our plant. It's just under a 10-minute train ride from Landquart.

      How many vacation days do I get?

      You get seven weeks of vacation during your first year of apprenticeship, six weeks during your second year, and five weeks during your third and fourth years.

      Do you offer any other benefits?

      Yes, of course there are more:

      • We will contribute CHF 80.00 per year to your gym membership.
      • We have an employee counselling service (social worker) that also supports you with business and private problems. 
      • Or are you interested in an apprenticeship as an athlete? We will support you there as well. 
      • Or what about BM? We will pay for the obligatory language stay.
